You can have many options with online video hosting sites such as Youtube and Vimeo. Some of the downsides that I find, is that ads can be played on your videos or you may have to pay for a premium membership to gain additional features.
I host a lot of my own videos on my hosting site. That way I have complete control over my videos and players. I do not have to worry about ads or the fact that my host provider could take my video down without notice.
I do a lot of video editing and I convert videos to flash which is an .flv file. I find that flash quality is outstanding and the videos load and play very fast. That makes for a pleasant viewing experience and it’s less likely that my viewer will click away if I can quickly engage them in my content.
What if I want to share my video with another website or I may possibly write a guest post on another site. It can be quite a hassle to upload a large video file to someone else’s website. There is a simple way to share your video with many other websites if you have already uploaded the video once to your hosting site.

I use the Adobe Free Flash Media Playback site that automatically gives me an embed code which enables me to place my videos on other sites. It’s a free flash video player download for you to take full advantage of. You simply enter the url of where your video is hosted. The flash media playback software will allow you to size the video and to make some changes in how the video plays. Hit the preview button and Adobe will automatically give you an embed code for your player. Adobe host the free video player on their site. You can also upload a video start image and insert the url of your image. It’s very important for your video start image to be one which will get the curiosity of your viewer. Adobe gives you full control.
