Converting MP4 to MP3

Today’s world can be described as web centric by all standards. As a result of the increased use of the internet and other forms of digital media, there has been a big problem of converting files that have been written in one form to the other. This has been due to several reasons. The increased need to constantly convert media from one form to the other has been as a result of the increased use of playback devices that are based on the digital audio technologies. The most widely used multimedia format on the web is the MPEF-4 format. Actually it can be said to be the ISO standard of all formats used for multimedia purposes in the internet and elsewhere. This format has been credited with consistency in terms of producing CDs and DVDs with the same audio and video quality. This is especially so when compared to its predecessors MP3 and MP2.

The greatest problem that has come to be associated with the MPEG-4 format or codec is that most consumers who browse the web on a daily basis or those who use the digital play back devices do not have devices that are compatible with this format. This is despite the fact that this format is crafted with multimedia playback and streaming functions in mind. Several playback devices as well as legacy music software do not accept the MPEG-4 format. They only accept the MPEG-3 or MP3 format which is official audio format. The MP3 was originally developed by the moving picture experts group (MPEG). This makes it absolutely necessary to convert MP4 to MP3.

The MP4 format combines several media forms in a single file. These include audio, video and embedded 3D content. The embedded 3D format is also known as X3D format. The MP4 format has made it relatively easy to stream data via the internet through its combination of audio files and video files. The MP4 has an audio component known as the AAC format or Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) format. This particular format compresses files much better than the MP3 format as well as enhancing the audio quality exponentially.

Before you convert MP4 to MP3, ensure that you have a good idea of the number of files that you want to convert. This is because some players do not have the provision of bulk conversion. One such converter is the iTunes converter. Converters with this feature are ideal as you get to have your conversion of several files in a rather short time.
